| Prevent Recurring Urinary Tract Infections |
Every week I see quite a few people that are suffering from Urinary Tract Infections, so I thought it would be something that I could address here in this article. Natural treatments definitely can help. In most cases, kidney infections start as a UTI and go up the ureters to the kidneys. Doctors tend to dismiss the significance of these UTIs in women because, compared to a man's anatomy, a woman's urethral opening is closer to fecal bacteria, and her shorter urethra makes it easier for those bacteria to get into her bladder. But there's a problem with this logic.
Your urinary tract (made up of the urethra, bladder, ureters, and kidneys) has built-in defenses that are supposed to protect you against UTIs. And, research has shown that recurrent UTIs really aren't recurrent at all - each infection is completely new and has distinctly different strains of bacteria. Here's how you can restore strains of bacteria: |

-
Reduce Acidity. If your blood is overly acidic, your urine will be too. Overly acidic urine burns the urinary tract's delicate lining and makes it raw and vulnerable to invasion by fecal bacteria. You may have heard that drinking highly acidic blueberry or cranberry juice and taking vitamin C are supposed to be good self-treatments for UTIs and a lot of people mistakenly believe it's the acidity of these treatments that does the trick. But that's not true. The juices (especially blueberry juice) are rich in anthocyanins, and the powerful anti-inflammatory pigments in those anthocyanins help by making the urinary tract's cells too slippery for bacteria to attach. Vitamin C is a powerful immune system booster that's particularly effective for UTIs because it's excreted in the urine. However, the acidity of these natural treatments is a counterproductive and unnecessary irritant.
-
Take standardized blueberry extract capsules containing a minimum of 1.5 percent anthocyanins. It is recommended to take one capsule twice daily.
-
Take 2,000-6,000 mg of mineral -buffered vitamin C daily, in divided doses during the acute phase of infection, reduce the dosage when the infection is cleared.
-
Focus on restoring a healthy, slightly alkaline body pH. This will boost your immune system so the bacterial infection is quickly neutralized.
-
Drink at least eight glasses of purified water per day to help flush bacteria from your urinary tract.
-
Consider using Acupuncture. In studies done in Norway on women, these acupuncture groups showed significant recovery over women that did not have acupuncture. Also in a Russian study of kidney infections, it showed improved blood flow to the kidneys after acupuncture.
-
Take self-healing to the next level. It is well known that excessive stress reduces immunity and makes you more prone to infectious diseases and many other health issues. Throughout my journey of learning how to help people help themselves, I have been a strong proponent of reducing stress with exercise, meditation, visualization, deep breathing and prayer. You can take this self-healing to another level by addressing the whole body, mind, and soul.
-
Take Colloidal Silver. Many of my clients take colloidal silver and swear by it, so I will include this information too. Colloidal silver acts as a urinary tract disinfectant when excreted in the urine. Because colloidal silver is a disinfectant, not an antibiotic, your body won't develop a resistance to it. It is recommended to take 1/4 teaspoon (about two droppersfull) of a 5-10 ppm solution orally, twice daily. Place it under your tongue for 30-60 seconds before swallowing. Use this for three months, and restart it at the first sign of a new infection.
-
And last but not least, use Herbal Formulas. There is a formula for helping with Urinary problems made up of:
Cleavers, Uva ursi leaf, Poria, Marshmallow root, Parsley root, Dandelion root, Ginger root. This formula overcomes thirst, swelling, cystitis, and kidney weakness. For general fluid balance and elimination take two or more tablets three times daily with warm water. For urinary inflammation take two tablets every two hours with two Echinacea tablets, and if you can't take Echinacea, use Astragalus root.
-
Herbal Formula #2. The formula that I use most of the time is made up of: Juniper berry, Hydrangea root, Parsley leaf, Queen of the Meadow root, Marshmallow root, and Uva Ursi leaf. Approx. 80% of the body is liquid, and much of this fluid must be pumped, filtered, through the urinary system of the individual. We generally do not take the best care of this delicate tract. Through it circulated irritating and clogging-type material, tea, coffee, soft drinks, hard water, alcohol, etc. Many people have found relief from this formula. It is suggested to use a cup of tea in the morning and one in the evening, or two capsules in the morning and evening with a cup of parsley tea.
Here you have my information on Urinary Tract Infections, hope this will help those of you suffering from this ailment.
